It seems odd to just wade in without an introduction, so let this serve as that. I’m a psychologist by training who is interested in cities, buildings, and how they work (or don’t) for people. I’ve written a couple of books about such topics and am now working on a third. You can find all the appropriate boilerplate at my website.
I’m here because there are certain things I like to talk about that don’t fit very well into my professional persona. For example, I’ve travelled a fair bit and I have stories…. I’ll tell some of them here. I’ve also spent the last two years sitting in a little room, mostly experiencing the world through the screen I’m sitting in front of right now. Most of us have heard all we want to hear about how the pandemic has transformed life (and continues to do so), so I’ll tread lightly there.
I’m not 100% sure what to expect or predict of this. I’m one of those people who seems to think mostly through his fingers on a keyboard. So I’m not promising much at the moment other than what I see as raw and unvarnished truth about something that I find interesting.
Bravo Colin! I will follow, and read, great interest.
